Exp 3 THE BRIDGE

Two sections showing the function of different part of building which rely on the circulation of student staff. From city part students and comes from south direction. Staff offices and meeting room in the left hand side of the building which near the city side entrance, Staff is in the second level of the building, connected with the lecture room. Ground floor where under the staff office have a large space for meetings, following stair to the upper level there is a platform for meeting as well.

Lecture room is in the middle of the main building, you could get in from both side of the lecture room or second level.

In the water side of the building, library is a small building separate with main block, circulation in library is amazing=) it has a small platform in second level, students could have meeting there. in the right hand side of the library is gallery, big opening of the gallery space offer a good view for people, which you can see the other side of harbour, landscape is amazing. Architectural folly is in the other side of the harbour, you can go there by elevators. Gallery have a 9 meters ceilings, good for event and exhibitions.

The triangle grids facade is facing north, which can get enough sunshine, especially for Dunedin winter. some of the triangle grids are not structured with glass, it can give people a more privacy space.
Under the library and gallery , there is studio, workshop and computer lab, you can only go there by student elevator. Under the studio room, there is a platform touching water space. Students could finding fun from here.


The bridge not only a architecture school, it offer a public life into the harbour, which give a opportunity to Dunedin citizen to experience the harbour life.

the right hand side elevator (blow the curve) can bring student to studio room ( under the GF) and computer lab and water platform.

Forms follow function

This architecture folly is for Deans meeting. It is located in the other side of harbour.  The folly have three level , the top level is a platform which is design for landing the elevator. Then people can follow the stairs going to the first and second floor have meeting.
